About Dr. Kay

Dr. KayDr. O’Hara’s love of learning and helping people has led to a long career in complementary healthcare.  She has always been keenly interested in providing safe, natural treatment for a vast array of conditions.  She has been guiding patients to lead healthier lives since 1990 using chiropractic care, nutritional and lifestyle advice.  In 2009, after adding a Master’s degree to her Doctorate, she now includes acupuncture to her arsenal of services. Over the last 30 years she has completed several programs in nutrition, posture, auriculotherapy, musculoskeletal rehabilitation, dry needling and meridian therapy, studying with world renowned experts in the fields of acupuncture, nutrition and chiropractic.

Dr. O’Hara distinguished herself in her field by sitting on the executive board of the Maryland Chiropractic Association for several years and has received accolades for her professionalism and experience by achieving The President’s Award in 2003 and the Frank Roberts Memorial Award in 2004 for Recognition of Longstanding and Dedicated Service. Dr. O’Hara’s commitment to quality healthcare was recognized in 2004 when she was appointed to the Chiropractic and Massage Therapy Board of Examiners by the then Governor Ehrlich.  In 2008 she was re-appointed for a second term by Governor O’Malley and elected the first woman president of the Board in 2009.

Because of her extensive training, she uses a variety of assessment techniques from different perspectives to gain a unique insight into each patient, evaluating them from structural, energetic and metabolic viewpoints.  In this way she can craft a treatment plan specific to her patients’ concerns.
